The 2017 HMS Horsemanship, Leader, and life Skills Clinic coming in will be a life changing event for today’s youth. The clinic is focused on mentoring youth by helping to shape their minds in preparation for adulthood and introducing them to true horsemanship and the history of people of color in the equestrian world. The HMS Clinic have partnered with community leaders, law enforcement, professional athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs and everyone giving back to the community by investing in our youth. Clinic founder Samuel Francois, also known as Horseman Sam, began his journey into horsemanship at the age of 9 when he spent the summers of his youth caring for his uncle’s walking horses. At the age of 21, a chance encounter provided him the opportunity to work with some horse enthusiast and ultimately become a horse owner. Walking horses were his first experience with training horses. He trained his own horse and won 2nd place in the Dixie Jubilee in Baton Rouge, LA in 1997. He would go on to own several different breeds of horses and his passion for the animals would eventually lead him to a career as a trainer.
Francois completed his Horse training certification at the Minnesota Horse Training academy in Ogilvie, MN, under the direction and leadership of Larry Surrett. The program at MHTA is the only one of its kind, anywhere and has equipped Francois with the knowledge and skills to teach any horse to do anything, while making it look like a breeze. Francois has a “Don’t Tell, Just Show” philosophy when it comes to horse training and takes pride in always exceeding expectations.
Francois says, “I was inspired to do the clinic because it was from the heart. With all of the domestic issues going on in the country right now it was time to take back our community by providing skills to build tomorrow’s leaders. With the team of leaders I’ve assemble I believe this clinic will change many lives. Horses have a way of healing in ways that man can’t. It’s my goal to be that bridge and educate the masses. I decided to have my first annual HMS Horsemanship, Leadership and Life Skills Clinic geared to build a better YOU in horsemanship and life.”
Proceeds will be used to sponsor the clinic and will give you an automatic entry drawing for an HMS trained horse. Will you be there? Please share with all of your family and friends to make this event a huge success. For more information go to http://www.horsemansam and http://www.rideemwear.com
